“For the night, I am yours…”
Meet Coop Formal date. Wingman. Friend. Mystery man. He calls himself the G-rated Gigolo of Browerton. He could be anyone you wanted him to be…for a price.
One night, his services are called upon for a unique assignment distract a computer science nerd whose strong grades are killing the class curve. All Coop has to do is get the guy away from his books, save the curve, and collect the biggest payday of his G-rated Gigolo career.
Should be easy enough, right?
Matty has no interest in making friends or any cherished college memories that don’t involve the Dean’s list. Growing up, he withstood years of relentless bullying and loneliness to graduate from high school as valedictorian. His tough shell helps him excel at Browerton, bringing him one step closer to his dream internship in robotic engineering—even if he has to do it solo.
When Coop stumbles into his life, he slowly breaks down the walls that Matty keeps concreted in stone. Sparks fly and quickly blossom into something deeper, but how long can their relationship last before the truth comes out?
Out for the Night is the 4th book in the Browerton University series, but can easily be read as a standalone. It contains humor, heart, and hot guys. The book is intended for readers 18+.

AJ Truman really hit it out of the ballpark with this one! This is the best book in the whole Browerton University series. I fell in love with the MC's (Coop and Matty), but I was almost afraid this was going to be a cliché story about a jock and a nerd. Boy! was I wrong. The jock in this story (Coop) was so much more complex than the cliché jocks in so many other books. I won't give away any hints, but when Truman tells us about Coop's high school years and peels away the layers of his personality, we discover just how different he is than the cliché jock character. Coop is a college student at Browerton University, but he works part-time as a G-rated gigolo. Unique? Yes! Clever? Yes! But since this is an AJ Truman book, it's NOT surprising. Truman's plots and characters are ALWAYS unique and clever. So I wasn't surprised to see how complex and unique the character of Coop turned out to be. OUT FOR THE NIGHT is a stand alone story, but I highly recommend you read ALL the books in this series. Every time Truman brings you back to the university, it's like coming home again. Now I'm hoping that we see another book in this series that focuses on one of the minor characters from OUT FOR THE NIGHT..........That character is Rafe. He's so sweet and funny. And he DESERVES to find the man of his dreams. During one scene in OUT FOR THE NIGHT, Rafe is hilarious as he "helps" Coop pull off a caper that involves breaking and entering the "bad guy's" apartment. I won't give away any of that plot point, but when Rafe ends up trying on a blazer from the bad guy's closet (when he SHOULD be helping Coop with the sneaky break-in) I laughed so hard I cried! Do yourself a favor and purchase this book TODAY! I promise you that you'll be so addicted to Truman's writing that you'll end up buying the whole series!Product details

Out for the Night Browerton University Book 4 edition by AJ Truman Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The storyline of this book has more depth and is even more interesting than the book summary indicates. The characters A.J Truman create are, as always, varied and detailed, and touches your heart. This book, as well as the rest of the series Browerton University, will grab you from first page to last. I highly recommend reading the whole series, it's a gem.
Coop is 100% NERD. The way he earns money puts him in front of his future boyfriend. All through the book I kept waiting for the truth to come out. The closer Coop and Matty got the more I worried. Great story and a strong family message. 4.0 for robots.
I really loved this book! Went in thinking this was gonna be some middle of the road meh fest of a read and was pleasantly surprised. The story is different enough yet still true to the usual tropes to no be rote while still being entertaining. The main characters of Matty and Coop are surprisingly enjoyable and while they fill the Nerd/Jock roles at a glance, they also have a surprising depth to them. It was nice to see characters who experience a range of emotions AND can be both pleasant/unpleasant characters to those around them. Matty has a nice character arc that involves his coming out of his shell and learning to live. Coop has an equally nice arc about finally being himself instead of just what he wants others to see him as. It even has the typical college professor who is so grossly out of touch as to be nearly inhuman! Incredible!
Matty and Coop could not be more different. Opposites do attract. Sometimes, the incentive to connect is not the right one. What is important is to acknowledge one's error and be true to oneself. Not easy when one has lived a life of lies.
Truly enjoyed this story and the Browerton University serie. How about Book 5 featuring Rafe?
BTW, the Montreal Expos was the baseball team, the Montreal Canadiens is the hockey team. 😊
I LOVED IT!
I love all Browerton stories, they are simply awesome.
This time it was more difficult because I found Matty to be like me, his professor annoyed me to no end because it was almost like my own life and sometimes it was too much. In the same time I loved how nerdy he was, how Coop stayed true to himself and fought for their relationship.
Also, it was good to see Rafe again!
I hope there is more than just 5 books in this series.
I've enjoyed all the books in this series -- and this last one, most of all. Unlike some series where it's clear the author's inspiration dwindles as the series ages, the characters inhabiting the Browerton University 'verse and the plots have grown in depth and complexity as the series has continued. Also, Truman has a (much appreciated) knack for setting up conflicts in his stories that don't read as contrived or silly. If you read a lot of mm romance (or any variety of romance), you know what I'm talking about -- like the MC who can't decide if the other MC is *really* into him even though they've been going at it like rabbits since 20%. None of that nonsense here. The road to the HEA is suitably rocky, but in a believable way that makes me care about the characters rather than roll my eyes. Keep them coming, please!
This was my least favorite of the "Out" books. It's based on that super-cliched trope of the bad guy paying the good guy to do something (fill in the blank) to the other main character, without that person being aware. Which is the plot of half the teenage/high school movies made since 1984. The plot is so similar to 10 Things I Hate About You (there's even a line that's almost identical!), but the similarities weren't clever enough to make me feel like it was an awesome tongue-in-cheek homage (Clueless/Emma). Instead, it felt like a lazy rip off.
I liked Matty and I liked most of Coop's personality. But Coop's characterization as a jacked, dudebro rapper left me cold. Not the kind of man I'm interested in knowing in real life, not the kind of character I want to read about. Luckily, I was able to skim most of the raps and the songwriter gym rat traits felt tacked on anyway.
I was interested in Rafe's character enough that I bought his book. So I guess Out for the Night didn't turn me off completely. It just confused me about whether I was supposed to wink saucily at the similarities between it and 10 Things I Hate About You (and a dozen other movies) or groan at the lack of originality. I groaned.
